Morris Lions Club Car Show – Oct 9, 2011
We had a great turn-out for this event! Our PX, set up by Jr Vice Jeff Bauc and Sr Vice Joe Donnelly did very well selling our own Marine Corps League t-shirts, ball caps, and various other forms of Marine Corps merchandise. Other members who attended earned a donation to our League from the Morris Lions Club for helping to park the classic cars that were shown. We were lucky to have had the weather cooperate too, as it was a beautiful day! Pictures from this event are posted in the Photo Album.
Manteno Veterans Home Visit – Nov 13, 2011
On Sunday, Nov 13, 2011 Service Officer Terry Rohman, Jeff Bauc and his son Tony, Bob Garza and his son, Bobby, Bill Welch and his wife Cathy along with their therapy dog, Mya and also members of the Kankakee Marine Corps League Detachment brought a Marine Corps Birthday celebration dinner to the Marine veterans at Manteno. This is a tradition that has been going on every year for approximately 10 years. This year, we were able to include entertainment by a singing group called “The Legacy Girls”. Their style is akin to the Andrews Sisters from the WWII era, and their music was enjoyed by all who attended. Photos from this event are also in the Photo Album.
